"THE MILITIA ACT OF 1808"
The militia act of 1808 called for every male
between the ages of 16 to 60 years to enrol in the company within which division
he lived. The Militia was mostly expected to serve within their province for a term of 6 months. THE REGIMENT Captain James Kerby's corps was active
from July 1812 until March 1813, serving from Fort Erie to the
emplacements at Chippawa and Queenston. |
